A world-famous classical music program, with daily concerts and events.
Approaching its sixtieth anniversary season, the AMFS continues pursuing the ideal of uniting the worlds of art and natural beauty. Music Director David Zinman presides over the nine-week summer festival of more than 350 events. More than 750 students come from around the world to study and perform with the world's top artists. This blending of the freshest talent and seasoned experience is a hallmark of Aspen's summer programs.

The world's finest music-makers come to Aspen: opera superstars Deborah Voigt (August 6) and Dawn Upshaw (July 24 and 29); cellists Lynn Harrell (July 5) and Alisa Weilerstein (July 8); violin sensations Janine Jansen (July 9 and 12) and Sarah Chang (August 9); extraordinary pianists Yefim Bronfman (July 28 and August 2), Joyce Yang (July 26 and 30), and Ingrid Fliter (August 14); and so many more! The 2009 opera season presents Puccini's beloved La Boheme (July 16, 18, and 20), Britten's haunting Rape of Lucretia (July 30 and August 1), and Mozart's most popular Don Giovanni (August 18, 20, and 22).
