Wendy Maruyama, a professor at San Diego State University, has been teaching and making furniture for 27 years. She is the recipient of many awards, including an NEA grant, a fellowship from the Japan/US Friendship Commission, and a Fulbright and has exhibited widely in the US and abroad. Her newest work incorporates video and digital photography in traditional and not-so-traditional furniture forms.

Judy McKie has been making critically-acclaimed and widely-exhibited work for over 25 years. She is recognized as a premiere figure in the American studio furniture movement and has received numerous awards, including: the Furniture Society’s Award of Distinction in 2005, the James Renwick Alliance Master of the Medium Award (2005), a Tiffany Foundation and NEA grants. Her work is infused with a lively awareness of modernist and contemporary art and the approaches to design found in indigenous cultures throughout the world.
