Jim Stone is an associate professor of photography at the University of New Mexico. His photographs have been exhibited and published internationally, and collected by the Museum of Modern Art, Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts, the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, among many others. Five of his books, A User’s Guide to the View Camera, Darkroom Dynamics, A Short Course in Photography (6th ed., with Barbara London), Photography (9th ed.) and Photography: The Essential Way (both with Barbara London and John Upton), are in wide and continued use for university-level courses, and there are three artist’s books of his photographs, Stranger Than Fiction (Light Work, 1993), Historiostomy (Piltdown Press, 2001), and Why My Pictures are Good (Nazraeli Press, 2005).
E.W. Ross is a practicing and exhibiting artist from Chicago. He is dean of continuing studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he teaches drawing.
Thomas Huang received an MFA from the furniture program at the Rhode Island School of Design, and was recently named a Searchlight Artist by the American Craft Council. He studied traditional bamboo splitting techniques with contemporary basketry artist, Jiro Yonezawa. A professor of industrial design at the University of Kansas, his furniture and sculpture have been exhibited at the Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts, Wexler Gallery in Philadelphia, and Shidoni Foundries and Galleries in Santa Fe, NM. |
